Zip compatible archivers may use two encryption schemas: old zip 2.0 compatible encryption and new strong encryption (mostly with AES algorigtm). The old encryption is insecure, has some vulnerabilities and very fast recovery rate. New Zip AES encryption is more secure. Parallel Password Recovery for Zip is an unique software designed especially to gain maximal recovery rate.

Local and Distributed versions

There are two key versions: local version which can be used by home user as well and distributed version for LAN and Internet. Local version can take advantage of home PCs up to 8 CPU processors/cores and GPU's. Distributed version is more professional one with possibility of unlimited clients connections.

Password Definition Language

It is the most important innovative feature of Parallel Password Recovery suite. It supports all well-known standard attacks (such as brute force, dictionary, misspelled password recovery etc) and also allows users to make their own attack types. PDL language is extremely efficient if user remembers any information about a forgotten password (for example, the password consists of two words separated by a special sign or has some digits at the end).

Parallel computing

Any of versions efficiently vectorize a password recovery process as on physical processors/cores and GPUs so on distributed workstations. Any of PDL rules are easily vectorized.

Parallel Zip Password Recovery supports legacy (Zip 2.0 compatible) encryption, WinZip AES encryption, PkZip strong AES encryption. Most of modern compression methods as Deflate64, LZMA and PPMd also supported (in .zip or .zipx files). PkZip files with encrypted filenames supported.

• 2. Which GPUs are supported to recover zip password?

  All modern NVIDIA and AMD cards. You need the latest drivers or latest drivers.

• 3. When GPU client is activated?

  GPU client is activated only if password definition contains '*' (regular repetition symbol). All another passwords are tested on CPU. All encryption types (Zip 2.0 encryption, WinZip AES encryption and PKZip strong encryption) are supported by GPU.
